Booking & visits

Getting an appointment

How do I book a grooming appointment?

Call 778-654-3343 to book. If you'd prefer a callback, you can request one through the contact form. Booking is handled manually, so sending the form starts the conversation. It doesn't confirm a time. Your appointment is set once you and the shop have agreed on a date and time.

Can I just drop in?

No. Visits are by appointment only, so please arrange a time before you come to the shop.

Which days are you closed?

Spunky Cuts is closed on Sunday and Monday. On other days, appointment times are agreed individually, so ask about availability when you call. If nobody picks up, the contact form is another way to ask for a callback.

Where is the shop?

The shop is at 9906 E Strobe Ave, Mesa, AZ. Once your appointment is confirmed, use the map link to plan your route.

Services

Choosing the right service

Do you groom cats as well as dogs?

Yes. Spunky Cuts grooms both cats and dogs. The shop doesn't groom any other animals.

What does full-service grooming include?

It starts with a pre-groom consultation. Then your pet gets a bath, blow dry, brush out, ear cleaning, nail trim and haircut. For more detail, see full-service grooming.

Bath and blow dry, or a full groom?

Choose bath and blow dry if your pet needs a clean coat but not a new length. If you also want a haircut and the other steps listed above, a full groom is the better fit. If you're not sure, describe the result you want when you call.

What's the difference between nail trimming and grinding?

Generally, trimming cuts the nail shorter and grinding smooths the edge with a rotary tool. Both are part of nail trimming and grinding. If your pet doesn't like having their paws handled, mention it when you book.

Prices and what isn't offered

How much does a groom cost?

Prices aren't listed on this website. Ask for a price when you call. It helps to mention whether your pet is a cat or a dog, roughly how big they are, their coat type and which service you want.

Do you offer flea and tick treatments?

No, Spunky Cuts doesn't offer flea or tick treatments. If you notice fleas or ticks, ask your veterinarian about treatment, then contact the shop before you arrange grooming.

Can grooming fix itchy skin or sudden hair loss?

No. Grooming is coat and nail care, not medical treatment. Patchy hair loss, sore or red skin, ear odour and limping are general signs that your pet should see a veterinarian.

Preparation

Getting your pet ready

Do I need vaccination records?

This website doesn't publish vaccination requirements. When you book, ask whether any records are needed and bring copies if they are.

My pet is nervous. Should I say so?

Yes. Mention fear of dryers or nail care, sensitive areas, health conditions, and any trouble at past grooming visits. Knowing this in advance helps everyone plan a calmer visit.

My pet's coat is matted. What should I do?

Don't try to cut the mats out with scissors at home. Skin can sit right under the tangle and is easy to nick. Tell the shop where the mats are and how tight they feel, so you can talk through options such as deshedding or a shorter cut.

How long will the appointment take?

It depends on the service, your pet's size and coat condition. Ask for an estimated length and agree on pickup when you book.
